What we collect from the site

Nothing that identifies you. There are no forms on this site, no accounts, and no way to submit information through it. We set no cookies and store nothing on your device.

We do count traffic. Vercel Web Analytics records that a page was viewed, along with the referring site, the country, and the general device and browser type. It uses no cookies, writes nothing to your browser, and does not follow you to other sites. Repeat visits are counted using a value derived from the request and rotated daily, so no identifier for you persists anywhere.

Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast pages load. On a page view it records the page address, the loading speed readings your browser reports, your connection speed, browser, device type, operating system, and country. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Vercel states that these readings are anonymous and cannot be tied to an individual or used to reconstruct a path across pages. We use it to find slow pages and fix them.

What we see is counts and load times. Which pages get read, roughly where readers arrive from, and which pages are slow. We cannot work back to a person from any of it, and we do not try. If that ever changes, we will update this page before it does.

The fonts and images are served from this site rather than from a third party. Apart from the counting described above, loading a page here does not report your visit to anyone else.

What we collect when you email us

If you write to us, we receive what you send. That is usually your name, your email address, your brand, and whatever you choose to tell us about your situation. You decide what to include. Nothing is required.

How we use it

To answer you, and to continue the conversation if there is one. That is the only use. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it, rent it, or trade it. We do not hand it to advertisers, data brokers, or list vendors. There is no advertising on this site and no relationship with anyone who would want the data.

Where email is kept

Correspondence lives in Google Workspace, which is our mail provider. Google handles that mail under its own terms as our processor. We keep correspondence for as long as it is relevant to our relationship with you. Ask us to delete yours and we will.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel handles the ordinary technical data required to deliver a page to your browser. Vercel also runs the page counting and the speed measurement described above and processes both for us. We receive reports about which pages are read and how fast they load. We do not receive reports about who reads them.

Leaving the site

The only outbound link on this site goes to our LinkedIn page. LinkedIn is not ours, and once you are there, their privacy practices apply, not ours.
